Projects
Killdeer Wetlands
Funds from the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resources Trust are being used to modify and retrofit the stream channel and diversion
structures on the Green River in the Killdeer Wetlands within the City of Green River.

Skyline Trail
Funds from the Dustin Shillcox Foundation and other partners are being used to develop a multi-use trail that a person in a wheel chair can enjoy while enjoying a bird’s eye view of our city and surrounding area. The trail begins at the Upland Street Pump Station, climbs South Hill at a 12% grade or less and exits at Western Wyoming Community College Green River Center. The trail will be 5’ wide with a varied surface.

Dog Park
The City of Green River’s Dog Park was opened in June 2023. Green River High School’s National Honor Society raised $38,000 for its construction. Inberg Miller donated its engineering services and the City of Green River’s Parks and Public Works departments installed the sprinkler system, built the park features, and installed the parking lot. The GBTF acted as the student’s financial agent and secured a contractor to put up the fence. The Green River Arts Council provided Patches, the statue, that watches over the park. In addition to these donations, the Kourbelas Foundation gave the GBTF $50,000 in 2023 for improvements to Green River’s dog park.

Riverbank Stabilization
Trout Unlimited completed a $700,000 bank stabilization project in the Scotts Bottom area of FMC Park. The group stock piled boulders and stumps to be inserted in the east side river bank. Using these materials, bank erosion will be curtailed and fish habitat will be enhanced. The GBTF plans to restore the soft trial that has been washed away in the last 30 years.
