About Us
The Green River Greenbelt Task Force began in 1990. It is a 501 c3 non-profit organization made up of volunteers from the community. Task Force goals include improving recreational access and opportunities; protecting wildlife habitat, encouraging compatible economic development; beautifying the community; and assisting the City of Green River in obtaining grants and donations to develop and maintain the greenbelt.
Mission
The mission of the Green River Greenbelt Task Force is to conserve and restore river landscape and features by promoting open space, natural areas, and a greenbelt trail system along the Green River in Sweetwater County through education, public awareness, partnerships with private and public entities and the City of Green River: to promote the development of wildlife habitat, economic resources and recreational activities along the Green River Corridor.

The Board meets the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm at the Green River City Hall.
